It's with much sadness,

we share the passing of

Jimmy Don Wynn, Saturday,

December 3, 2022

Beloved father, Grandfather, and friend.

Born in Turkey, Texas to Joe & Florene Wynn on

July 9, 1940. He went to school and grew up in Buellton California where his parents worked on a diary. He attended San Jose State College and also Santa Barbara City College. He worked as a postal worker, at Channel Industries, as a logger, City of Salem Police officer, and finally the owner of Arctic Refrigeration.

In 1961 he fell in love with Frances Toepfer in Santa Barbara California and they were married in May of 1962. They moved to Sublimity Oregon in September of 1965 after the birth of their first daughter Cindi. Tracie was born in 1967 and Cassie was in 1970 in Salem.

Jim was known for his quirky, ‘Wynn’ personality. He loved taking the family fishing, camping, on road trips, and going to the coast. One of his favorite places to fish was in British Columbia where he went many times with his family and friends.

He had a deep love for the Bible and Bible truths and was baptized in 1973 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He enjoyed sharing those bible truths with others in the door-to-door ministry. He retired from the Salem Police department in 1981 after 14 years of service to start his own HVAC business.

After moving his business to Portland, he met and married his beloved wife Francine Rose in 1994. It brought him great joy to support his wife in the pioneer work (volunteering to teach others Bible truths) for many years. A highlight for both of them was learning Swahili together and attending the Swahili congregation and Swahili conventions in Texas.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife Francine of 28 years, and his brothers, Larry, Lynn, and Scott Wynn.

He is survived by his first wife Frances Elliott, his children Cindi and her 3 children Anthony (Vanessa), Mychal, and Jaclyn; Tracie (Ron), and Cassie and her 3 children Travis, Kayla, and Skyler, his stepchildren Renee (Chris) and her 2 children Mikah and Maizy, Melissa (Howard) and her 2 children Morgan and Trevor, as well as his sisters Sandy Sidah and Lisa Morris. He had 6 great-grandchildren.

Jim will be very missed by all who knew and loved him. A bible truth that he held very close to his heart was the promise in Job.

How we long for the day in the near future when he will return to us in good health in a peaceful new earth!

“If a man dies, can he live again?

You will call, and I will answer you.

You will have a yearning for

the work of your hands.”

Job 14:14, 15
